Betty's Sweet Corn on the Cob + Farmer's Market Trip

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to cook fresh corn on the cob to do with a full lunch or dinner meal. Also included is a trip to the Farmer's Market to pick up the corn.

Ingredients:

6 ears of fresh corn in their shucks (I used "Silver Queen" variety of corn, which is almost white-colored when uncooked.)
boiling water in a wide saucepan (such as a Dutch oven), enough to cover the corn completely

Remove the 6 ears of corn from their shucks, and also remove any silks that remain on the corn. Trim off the bottom stalk and any imperfections. Place the ears of corn, one at a time, into rapidly boiling water. Return the water to boiling, reduce heat until it is still bubbling a bit, and cook for a very short amount of time--maybe 5 minutes or so. You can test the corn for doneness, by using a fork to pierce a kernel. If it is milky, the corn is not yet done. When the corn is done, use a meat fork or tongs to remove each piece to a platter to drain. Serve on a nice serving dish, and provide fresh butter, salt, and pepper--and any other seasonings that you like with corn. There aren't many foods that are tastier in the summertime than fresh corn from the garden!!!
